Berthoud Veterinary Health Care isn't just another veterinary clinic — we're a passionate, privately owned, female-led team committed to providing exceptional care to the pets of Berthoud, CO. We are focused on creating a welcoming, judgment-free space where pets feel safe and their humans feel heard.
Our mission is simple: to treat every pet like family. Whether you're here for a routine checkup or a complex procedure, our experienced team goes the extra mile to ensure your pet receives compassionate, personalized care every step of the way.
What sets us apart is our combination of in-clinic appointments and convenient house call services throughout Berthoud and surrounding areas — ideal for senior pets, anxious animals, or any pet who simply does better at home.
We see dogs and cats only, and we are proudly accepting new clients.
Our Veterinarians
Dr. Tory Wunder
Owner / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Tory Wunder was raised on a family farm in Iowa and always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. After graduating in 2000, she joined a small animal practice in Mankato, MN, and in 2009 made the move west to Colorado. Dr. Wunder enjoys all facets of small animal medicine with particular interest in internal medicine, dentistry, and senior pet care. She shares her home in Longmont with her partner Andy and their canine companions Mabel and Gigi.
Dr. Mimi Elliott
Owner / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Mimi Elliott was raised in Orange County, California and attended Georgetown University, where she participated in their collegiate sailing program. She graduated from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2011. After completing an internship in emergency and critical care, she found her calling in general practice on the Front Range. Her areas of interest include internal medicine, dentistry, and emergency medicine. At home, Dr. Elliott enjoys the company of her hound Haya, mixed-breed dog Forrest Gump, husband Garrick, and daughters Soleil and Heloise.
Dr. Elizabeth Lawrence
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Elizabeth Lawrence grew up in rural Indiana surrounded by dogs, cats, goats, horses, and llamas. She completed undergraduate studies at Purdue University before attending Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine, where she spent extensive time in research labs focused on infectious disease, vaccine efficacy, and wildlife susceptibility. She serves as the primary surgical doctor at Berthoud Veterinary Health Care and is known for her calm, compassionate approach and a particular soft spot for 'spicy' cats. Outside the clinic, she enjoys adventuring with her partner, two dogs, and three cats.
Dr. Elizabeth Sullivan
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Originally from Florida, Dr. Elizabeth Sullivan earned her PhD in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of Miami before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University. She completed a rotating internship with extensive experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and urgent care. She has a special passion for internal medicine cases and building strong client relationships. Outside the hospital, Dr. Sullivan enjoys exploring Colorado with her corgi Cleo, spending time with her two parrots, playing piano, and gaming with her partner.
